A Few guidelines for picking an eReader:
When you come to pick your e reader there a few important things you need to keep in mind:
- You want your screen to be comfortable to read from – most e readers use a E ink system that creates the illusion that you are reading off a real Book page. Make sure that you the font size (the letter size) is in a readable size (some e Readers have an option to enlarge the font size however not all of them). The function of font enlargement is great especially for older readers / sight impaired readers.
- Choose an eReader with a display screen that has no reflections – if you don’t you might find yourself with the same problem you have when you try to read off your laptop computer outdoors - the glare from the sun will make it impossible to see clearly.
- Look for a comfortable sized eReader – since you want to use your eReader on the go, your eReader should be portable. Most eReaders are the sizes of a magazine, but don’t take their word for it – check the size before you buy – compare it to the size of your favorite travel book, and you’re good to go.
- On the Same page – your eReader shouldn’t be too heavy – the whole idea is to create a device that is easy to carry around, look for an eReader that weight around 10 ounces.
- Many eReaders out there don’t support all types of files – make sure that your chosen eReader supports different types of files. Find out what sort of files you use – PDF files, Doc files, and so forth – and only then pick your eReader.
- If you’re anything like me, you keep forgetting to charge your cell phone, and that applies to all my chargeable devices. So look for an eReader that doesn’t need to be charged often, most eReaders use battery power only to turn a page, that means you only need to charge your eReader once every two weeks, that over 2500 page turns!!!!
- Last buy not least – find an eReader that you can download eBooks to easily. The greatest attribute of an eReader device is that you can download books in an instant – so make sure your eReader has the capability to connect to a varied eBook data base and that those eBooks are in a format that is supported by your eReader.
I hope i could give you an insite into how to pick the perfect eReader for you.
Buying an eReader is a big investment , not only for the short term but for the long run as well.
